RE: [APML] LASIK

Thanks Mark, You see I hold a pilot's license, and next Septemer if I can't
get my vision to 20/20 combined, I'll not pass my medical. So Lasik is very
attractive to me.

Hi Jerry,
It could be corrected to 20/20 or better with glasses but my eye Dr does
not see the need right now and I am having no problems seeing to drive,
read, or look at stars so I'm not in any rush to go back to glasses again.

Mark, can your vision now be corrected to 20/20 with corrective lenses?

Hi Tim,
I had my vision corrected from 20/650 to 20/25 in one eye and from 20/600
to 20/30 in the other eye. I was told to watch out for rings around lights
at night but have never experienced any bad side effects other than an
occasional dry eye. It's truly a life-changing event. I'm coming up on
the 2 year anniversary of my surgery and my night vision has been
fantastic.
-Mark.

This is not exactly AstoPhoto....but very relevant...

I have been cursed with bad eyesight....as I'm sure a few of you have been
too. Nearsighted mainly. I've heard nothing but success stories with
Lasik laser eye sugary.

But none of them have been astronomers. Have any of you personally been
though the procedure? Does it cause any astronomy issues? I've heard of
issues with driving at night?

And last but not least....adaptive optics for humans! Maybe I should wait?
(money will force a wait either way :)

And I find it odd the professor who leads the research is wearing glasses
too...!! Is he holding out till this is finished?

Anyway....any comments or feedback?

Thanks!
