Re: [APML] Picture Resolution For Web

The problem is the word "resolution" gets used in several inconsistent
ways, and computer geeks (like me) casually refer to screen sizes as
resolutions; the whole computer industry does this. It's
(technically) wrong, but it's the lingua franca of monitor
configuration specifications.
I actually thought it was someone on the APML list who had a great
description of the various terminologies in use talking about dpi,
lpi, pitch, screen size, and the whole lot, but I can't find it
offhand.

This is exactly right and great advice.

Actually, most modern monitors (can) do much better than this. My
monitor is displaying at about 100 pixels/inch.

As someone else recently pointed out, something near that size is just
about perfect for displaying on 90+% of visitors displays.
