Loke, they are flat as the strip holder will hold them, which is about the
same as my old sprint scan 35 did.  I also get stretched out stars on the
edges from what I see as coma.  I miss my sprint scan! it was NEVER out of
focus.

Im installing my autoguider this weekend in the observatory, and giving it a
trial run.  the trusty old st4 will make those long schmidt exposures a snap
in the cold weather.

 I used a Polaroid Sprintscan 120. For the most part I have been very happy
with the scan quality. Interesting that you're having problems with edge
effects on your scanner. I have not heard of this problem before. Do you
think it may be that your negatives are not quite flat?
