Re: [APML] Speaking of E100 and Velvia
Hi Robert, I am starting using E200 and as I am reading your message a
question
comes to my mind: Does it make a big different to push E200 one stop, or in
other words do I have to always push it at least one stop? By the way I read
your book and is very good. After reading the section on different films for
astrophotography I don't which color film is best suited for this task
considering both negative and slide films. Do you have the answer for this?
Many thanks

Hello Jose,
E200 works great at 200 speed and I really can't complain about its
performance. I primarily push process it an extra stop in order to lighten
up the dark sky background so the slides will scan better on my ancient HP
Photosmart. Without that, black sky background has too much scanner noise.
Thank you for the compliment on the book. The film section however is quite
outdated now. Of the many color films I discuss, I don't think any are
still around in the same state they were back then. They are either gone or
have been modified, mostly with detrimental results for astrophotography.
That is why I now use the E200. I like slides and this film seems to work
best for me.
