[APML] Combining more than two images in RegiStar
RegiStar is designed to make it easy to deal with more than two images, and
it keeps track of which of the currently open images are registered to each
other using groups. Let's say you have three images, A, B, and C that you
want to register to each other. Then you first register B to A's group
(which initially just contains the image A), creating B_reg, which is in A's
group. Now A's group has two images, A and B_reg. Then, register C to A's
group. You will create C_reg, also in A's group. That group now has three
registered images, A, B_reg, and C_reg. Because C has been registered to A's
group, C_reg is registered with both of A and B_reg, not just A. You can
repeat for any number of images. After registering images into a group, you
can combine or export them. Only images that are in the same group can be
combined.
The Groups Manager is meant to make it easy to see which of possibly several
open images are in the same group. It also let's you rename images and move
images into and outside of groups manually, but it is generally better just
to let RegiStar manage placement of images into groups and use the Groups
Manager just as a reporting tool.
