[APML] OT: CCD Technology Primers from DALSA
Yes, I'm aware of the debates concerning the mandate of
this group and the topic of CCD imaging. But the topic
won't go away and it must be admitted that it has more
and more relevance to film imagers (which I count myself
among) as we start to combine data from the two technologies
into composite images (see the "New image: IC1396-Provia
and halpha CCD" thread for one example). It's generally
us film folk who have the most need for introductory
information about CCDs, so to that end see the following
web links to papers from a CCD manufacturer, DALSA
(whose headquarters are just down the street from me).
The first paper is a "primer" but you'll notice it is
still quite technical and requires some knowledge of
electronics to understand.

out: You might find yourself dreaming about using the larger
professional CCDs they make, such as their 11 Mpixel 4k x
2.6k model (36mm x 24mm area and 9 micron pixels):
