With the exceptions of an old picture of Cygnus (not the default one
shown, but if you pick "Prev Image" from the Cygnus page), the image
of Cassiopeia, and Cepheus, all of my constellation photos have been
scanned with this scanner.

I can't directly compare with a dedicated film scanner and can't
really tell what threshold qualifies as "good" for you.  I'm happy
with the scanner results.  I can still pick out plenty of flaws with
my photos, and the scanner scans well enough to make them visible---I
think that's good 8-)
