[APML] Taras' Astrophoto Page updated
Fellow APMLers!
I spent last weekend up in the Catskills and got one good night for photographing
the heavens. It was a long night, but I am pleased with the results. Also, I spent
some of last month finally using the QuickCam-based SAC-IV camera I bought
earlier this year. I used it to "split" double stars, image Saturn, and to make mosaics
of the moon. Things I can do under the severely light polluted skies of New York
City.
I've added a sample of the new photos to my astrophoto website, and collected them
on the new photos page. The link the new photos page is

I'm especially proud of my photo of the California Nebula (film):

And this mosaic of the moon (CCD):
This update includes 39 new images. There are now 173 images on my site
The main link to the site is:

I haven't processed the images much other than to stretch the histograms or
play a bit with the contrast. Unless otherwise noted, the film images are scans
from prints. I haven't gotten around to using my Minolta Scan Elite film scanner
much, yet.
Enjoy,
Taras
