Hello Rob,
Thanks for the comments.  Yes, I am reprocessing from the start again.
Minimum filter works very well and I am going to incorporate this next go
round.  I am probably blowing the stars out with several iterations of curve
stretches.  I am going to try and add star color back in from the original
scan, because there is plenty of color on the raw scan.  I will post with
another update later this weekend.  Thanks to all for comments and help.

Very beautiful film version of 1396. One thing I noticed
though is the lack of star colors which is usually the forte
of film. Aside from this its a fine image and probably can be
used as color data for your CCD image of the same.
