Re: [APML] Picture Window Pro vs. PhotoShop
Alan,
Both PWP and PS are excellent and both have features that aren't quite
duplicated by the other.
An astro imaging software package you might want to look into is
ImagesPlus. I think it's a terrific deal and has a ton of features.
The author also supports the software strongly. In the 6 months I've
owned it I think there have been 3 updates, each with many more new
features. See http://www.mlunsold.com/
I also think that most, if not all, of the functions handle 16 bit
images. It has a large selection of deconvolution options.
Mike (the author) responds to all requests for help and suggestions
for improvement or new features. The CD comes with great video
tutorials that really seem to shorten the learning curve.
And compared to PS, it's quite a bargain. There is also an active
Yahoo mail list for ImagesPlus: ImagesPlus@yahoogroups.com
I'm not in any way connected with ImagesPlus other than being a happy
customer...

| Hey Brian,
|
| Thanks for the information packed reply. Sounds like
| something to look into.
|
| Your name sounds familiar. Are you linked to
| 'Guidestar'? If so, the rings you made for the TV-85
| in May are working great and have helped me a lot. If
| not, sorry for the bad memory. :-)
|
| Thanks,
| Alan
