Re: [APML] Provia F400......push?

Steve,

I don't think the vacuum can hurt the film at all. I haven't left film in a
vacuum very long before hypering, I'm usually in a hurry to get it going. I
have tried RG200 in heated vacuum for 12 hours followed by a couple days in
the vacuum, without hypering, with no change to the film (I reported this a
day or two ago).

OTOH, I often left film in the hyper chamber, under hand pump vacuum, for
days or a week before an observing session. This was suggested in the
Lumicon directions as a way to keep the hypered film fresh. Then I did my
testing and found that for PJ400 and PPF400, storing hypered film a couple
months in the freezer improved the performance. I have RG200 hypered in the
freezer to check this, but its not ready to expose yet.

Don
