The Takahashi FS series has the fluorite element in the front of the
objective. OGS has a good explication of the objective on
there web site @ http://www.opticalguidancesystems.com/t-fs.htm
I own the FS-128 and I plan on sending it out for cleaning when it requires
it. The other question is how dirty is the lens?
The objective needs to be pretty dusty to cause a problem visually or
imaging.
