Oh, well, then in addition to the colorspace issues (which are still the
same as I described before), you have the different gamma issues.

The PC runs at about 2.2, and the Mac runs at 1.8. There is no cure for
this except to remember that the vast overwhelming majority of computers
are PC.

You could split the difference and then the image would only be a little
dark or a little light depending on the platform.

sRGB being calibrated won't mean much unless the image is viewed on a
calibrated monitor in a program that reads the sRGB tag and does a
conversion, which I don't think any web browsers do. That's why I
suggested just converting to your monitor space.

I would strongly recommend you upgrade to Photoshop 6. PS 5.5 is evil, as
our illustrious leader likes to say. PS3 won't hurt anything like 5.5 will,
but everything in PS3 will be displayed in monitor space.

PS5.5 can really screw up the color because of some color space problems it
has.

The OS you are running on the PC may matter too. I think Win2000 and WinME
and WinXP all run a color system which is the same as ColorSync on the Mac.
I'm not sure about any PC OS prior to that.

There are so many gotcha's involved in this, you can pretty much forget
about having the color look perfect on everyone's monitor. But at least you
should be able to get it close. The best you can do is make it look good on
a correctly calibrated monitor and make sure you have a handle on the color
space issues.
