Re: [APML] Meade Lawsuit
I've been trying to stay out of this discussion, because I think it's
off topic, but I have to respond to this one...
IMO Meade is ethically challenged. The fact that other corporations
have the same problem is no excuse. Of course some of their products
actually work well, but Meade has flagrantly false advertising regarding
their specs. Meade's dysfunctional autoguider, field derotator,
large-PE mounts discourage many newbie AP-ers. And this law suit is not
likely to be to the benefit of amateur astronomers.
Also, from what I hear, Meade will pay nothing for the seductive
astrophotos they use in their ads.
