Hi Steve--say I'm getting tired of drilling holes in lens caps to make
Hartman maskes for my STV when used with camera lenses.
Have you, or anyone else on list tried using a photographic "Star"
filter--one of those widgets deliberately used to create diffraction patterns
in photographs for those of us who don't have a Newtonian--as a focussing
aid for the STV?

It seems like it might be an easy solution.
