Tim,

That illustrates the dryness of the air more clearly than anything.  I 
don't think I've ever had a static discharge from film handling - the air 
just has too much moisture in it, even at my southern France site.  With 
that sort of air dryness I don't think you will see any real gain from 
using an N2 purge.  There is still the O2 question, but in my experience it 
is the H2O that matters most.
