I don't know of any plans but there's 2 or 3 availiable commercial domes. $$

You can cruise the net and get ideas for building your own. There used to be
a page or two dedicated to home observatories, but I haven't a clue to their
address.

Yes. You should use a 2" focuser and the Lumicon Newtonian ez guider. No
flexure!
