Re: [APML] NGC6820 - a CCD attempt to emulate Film

Thanks to all for the nice comments.

For those asking about the technique, I think I've got all the major steps
recorded and will add the process information in the notes at the bottom
of the image, hopefully sometime tomorrow.

Also,

I received permission from Robert Bickel to use his TechPan
Tri-Color data to do a Film/CCD hybrid where the CCD Ha
image is used as the L in a LRGB image. Here is the result:

Be sure to take a look (via the hyperlink in the title) at Bickel's
color data. It is amazing to me to see how much better the
composite is compared to the RGB base. I've also include a
matching section of my all CCD HaRGB image for comparison.

I actually think the CCD-TechPan combination looks the best
even though I used just the small jpeg image from Bickel's webpage.
But the all CCD image does pretty well considering the CCD color
was 1 hour vs the 7+ hours for the TechPan. Again, the big advantage
is using Ha for the Lum channel for either film or CCD.
