[APML] 35 mm print enlargement
Hi:
I am looking for a general rule of thumb (if there is
one): I am just
starting out taking 35mm prime focus and eye-piece
projection
photographs through my 10" LX200 f/10. I snapped a few
images of
Saturn last evening, which are ~8-10mm on a 4x6 35mm
print. I have a HP
7400 scanner with a film scanner attachment. For these
images of
Saturn and for future reference, what is an
approximate enlargement
factor that I can expect which will retain image
clarity? In other words, if a print image is 10 mm
(the negative
image is ~3 mm) what is a reasonable maximum
enlargement size on a
print which will still yield a nice image?
Thank you for your time.
