Hi Steve:
I've been experimenting with color print films. I didn't find LE400 "awful"
but maybe you're looking for something that I was not. Royal Gold 200 and
maybe RG 400 are getting touted here, but I haven't tried either yet. I
found Agfa Optima-2 400 and Konica Centuria 800 both pretty good and
comparable to Kodak Supra 400 (although the Centuria was certainly
grainier), see:

I haven't had a chance to follow up on my first tries with any of these
films, but all seem to be "possibles."
