Wade, I have a DSBS on my G-11 and I carry an 8" Vixen f/4 newtonian on one half and a 35mm camera
on the other. Heaviest lens the camera has carried is my 400mm f3.5 Nikkor (6 lbs). As Gene said,
you can move the rig sideways so that the balance is good and you can move each item carried by the
DSBS forward/backward too. I can always get mine balanced in both directions and it is VERY stiff.
Not saying it couldn't suffer flexure but so far I don't think I've had that problem and for short
focal lengths I can't imaging you having trouble.
