RE: [APML] First attempt Tech Pan/Color composite (HELP!)

Renzo, Stuart, Chris,
Thanks for the feedback. It's amazing how much the tech pan adds to the
shot.

Stuart, The images were registered in RegiStar, but after splitting the
channels for combining them it seemed difficult to get them back together
exactly right. I guess it's just trial and error until I figure this thing
out.

Chris, I gave the L'ab method a try according to Jerry's book and will try
to get it posted as a comparison to the others when I have more time. Thanks
for the observations.

Not sure how much of this I'll get to do considering my film is now all
expired by at least 6 months and tech pan is going going ...

Scott, I like them both but if I had to choose, I'd choose the second one.
Seems a little sharper.
Also, the colours seem a little less intense in the second and I like that
too.

I am not sure I understand how you registered the images. If you did this in
PS then my guess is that the two different emulsions (they are on different
thickness bases too) are not exactly to scale and so you may have slight
misalignment of stars. If you registered in Registar or something that will
stretch each image to make sure all stars align, well then I have no idea.
In any case, it is very slight and maybe I'm imagining it.
