Welcome. Go to astromart and try to get a copy "the Backyard
Astronomer's Guide", "Wide field Astrophotography" or any other entry
level book that looks good. If they aren't for you, re-sell them on
astromart and get some more. You can check out Jerry's site at:

Hope I got that right. There is tons of info there, including basic
astrophotography stuff. Don't try to jump too far, too soon. It is far
better to learn all the basics well, then to quit the hobby in
frustration.

Faster film would help, 5-10 seconds won't show much but it's hard to
expose for too much longer unless you can track the sky. Depending on
the lens used you might be able to go for 20-30 seconds. If that tal-2
tracks, then you can shoot far longer.
