Re: [APML] Image Processing Question: Gaussian Blur vs Unsharp Masking

I'll toss in an example of noise reduction achieved using SGBNR in
PixInsightLE.
Carlos was very patient in working with me in using their software, and
I was quite impressed
with the result. The raw FITS files are in that directory if someone
else would like to play with
them. I apologize for not having Carlos' processing file in the
directory, but will put it there
tonight if there's interest. I've gotten a number of comments that the
color balance should be
shifted away from the orange, but haven't gotten around to tweaking it yet.

A raw and post processed example are available at:
http://www.sonic.net/~banburys/PixInsightLE_Experiment/DW_Process_Compare.htm

Note, it takes a while for the images to load before the mouseover will
work.
Finally--the image is from my beginning steps into the Dark Side--but
the processing
benefits are independent of what net was used to catch the photons.
