[APML] Advice on Epson 4870 Film Scanner
Gang,
I'm thinking about putting a film scanner on my Christmas list. I don't
think I (or the gift givers) can quite swing a true medium format film
scanner like the Nikon Coolscan 9000, so I'm thinking about the Epson 4870
flatbed, which can scan negatives and transparencies up through 4x5. I will
be scanning 6x7 astrophotos, plus a few older 645, 6x6, and 4x5 terrestrial
slides/negs I took in the past.
Has anyone used the 4870 to scan astrophotos, and would they be so kind as
to offer their opinions? Better yet, some high-res examples would be most
welcome! I'm trying to figure out whether I should try the 4870, or save up
for a while and splurge on the 9000.
Thanks, and clear skies,
Andy
