RE: [APML] IC 410 uploaded and IC 405 adjusted

Hey Alan,

I see what you mean. I don't think the Lumicon GEG and CEG's would gain you anything. I understand now why you said someone was recommending the Newtonian Easy Guider, though.

If I have it right in my head, it seems like you would be able to solve the problem by getting the reducer further back from the scope. Have you tried putting the reducer in the cell directly in front of the camera, that is between camera and guideport? Or, putting some kind of spacer between the OAG and the tube to get the whole setup farther back from the scope? This would get your focuser more towards the center (or even the far end) of its travel where you want it before racking it back in to focus with the reducer.

When I'm (the camera) in focus, the focuser drawtube is racked about
1/2" away from maximum in-focus. With the 2 reducers I tried (Taurus
and Tak), even when racked all the way in, Vega was still a huge blob
several 7mm EP fields wide. It was so faint I almost missed it. All of
which (as you know) explains why I was looking into the Lumicon
guiders.
