Hi Scott,
It seems Dom hit the nail on the head! I have
always resized to 1024x without regard to my original image. I tried
resizing one down by 50% on each image and they look great all the way down to
thumbnail size. Any magnifications in between using zoom creates the
problem again so I've learned something very valuable tonight. Now this
brings up another question...Since I've been doing this all along on ALL my
images be it piggyback or PF, am I doing the same thing to those images?
Is it because there are no long lines to really show itself but it is still
there? Wow, if so I've got a lot of work to do!!!

Problem
Gary, Mine do the same thing unless I use the zoom tool a
bit, but generally not bad. I scan at 4000dpi. As for the thumbnails, how
are you reducing them in size? Try going to the Help tab and click on
Resize Image and use the online option. I'm not sure if this will correct
your problem or not, my thumbs show some of the same thing yours do, but
not as pronounced. Scott Hammonds www.creatorsview.com

APML Subject: [APML] Startrail Images
Problem
Hello, While processing startrail
images I've noticed that when I open them in PS, they are not smooth
trails, but look broken. When I use the "Fit on screen" they are
still broken but if I magnify them a little they are fine. When I reduce
them down for thumbnails on my website they look terrible and the large
versions are still a bit broken. I processed all the images the same
way I do my other AP shots except I scanned at 1200 dpi instead
of 2400. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I can correct
it? Here's how they look on my website... http://www.starryestateobservatory.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page9.html Thanks Gary
