RE: [APML] Provia 400 Question

Hi Gary

I like Provia 400F.  Make sure it's the 400F and not the 400.  It's as good a film for astrophotography as E200 is, except not as much color saturation.  As for M42, I can offer up my shot as an example:  http://www1.iwvisp.com/opticman/astroimages/M42_031004.html

I like the color balance of the film.  I haven't tried pushing it yet, but a lot of people like to.

Hope this helps.
Jason

Subject: [APML] Provia 400 Question

Hi All,
Since I wasn't able to see or image the eclipse, I have several rolls of Provia 400 in the fridge.  I've never used this film for piggyback or prime focus.  Should I push it 1 stop or shoot it as is?  Also, is it a good film for M42 and M31 and other emission nebula?  Thanks!

Gary
