Greetings Robert,

Someone else will undoubtedly mention that it is probably your hosting
service being inundated with IP traffic or a router that is dropping
packets requiring resends etc. You could always prove this by using the
ubiquitious M$ ftp from a "DOS" window and see if that behaves
similarly. Its an outside chance that your PC could have a wedged NIC
but I am guessing that you tried the reboot thing already and NIC's
generally don't go bad. If nothing has changed in your home PC set-up
its also possible that you have multiple NIC's set for auto-negotiate
and they are not in agreement as to the Network speed. This is actually
pretty common where I work and I simply lock the interfaces at the
desired speed and let the NIC in the PC auto-negotiate.
