[APML] Laser vs. Star Collimation

Well, it's me again looking for advice!

I got the understanding that good collimation is critical to making good
pictures. When researching collimation techniques on the web, I am getting
conflicting messages - some favour laser collimation, other favour star
collimation. I need to collimate my old C8 SCT scope and expect that I will
need to collimate (and I guess do optical axis alignment as well) of my new
Vixen RS200 8" f/4 Newtonian scope when it arrives. I want to collimate my
C8 for planet/moon photography and the RS200 for deep space photography.
Any advice you can give me or reliable sources you can forward me to?

Thanks in advance,
