Re: [APML] M31 With Aurora (or is it light struck film)

Hi Thom and George !

The light can pass everywhere , when I took a manualy guided picture of M-81 during 20 minutes with my LX-50 - 10" , I have a K1000 too. You can see the reflection of my reticle wich passed by the off-axis guider. here's the example ( the picture is cropped ) http://www.astrosurf.com/aurores/m81_cross.jpg
btw: it was -35°C outside , brrr ;)

Hi Thom

The "good" news is that the K-1000 doesn't have any LEDs inside to cause
problems. That only leaves external leaks around the camera back or
possibly light coming in from the viewfinder and past the mirror (less
likely).
