You won't find much difference between the Canon and Olympus for your
purposes. The Beattie screen will be brighter, but you basically won't be
able to focus on the screen anyway. It might help if you get the Lumicon
magnifier, but remember that if your scope is pointed overhead, the
magnifier will be pointed straight down and will be extremely difficult to
use.

Jerry,
You are right about SCT's, refractors and other scopes with bottom-ended
orifices pointing the wrong way. (down) They are a total pain to use with a
magnifier, unless you can get them a long way up in the air. This is a point
I had forgotten all about until I picked up a Cassegrain earlier this year.
As Serge mentioned, he will be using a Vixen Newtonian. This will have the
magnifier pointing up, or at any angle you wish as it has a rotating tube.
With the Canon AT-1, Serge's options are pretty limited as no-one except
Stiletto make a focuser for it. As a magnifier isn't the best solution,
Serge may want to look at the Nikon or Olympus as an option down the road,
as you suggest. But until then, the $19.95 cost isn't a huge gamble!
