RE: [APML] Piggybacked Canon FD 70-210mm f/4?
I've never used the 70-210, but I have its predecessor, I think, (100-200mm
f/5.6; mid-1970's era). The optics are good, but not up to fixed focal
length, and probably not up to astrophotography.
If the mechanics are the same ... twist to focus, push-pull to zoom, ... you
will definitely need to tape the lens. Both focus and zoom, on mine, are
subject to drift under the force of gravity. Point horizontally for
terrestrial photo and all is OK; point it vertically and watch it twist
itself and descend all by itself!

Subject: [APML] Piggybacked Canon FD 70-210mm f/4?
Would anyone be familiar with how good a Canon FD 70-210mm zoom would be for
piggybacked astrophotos..or, a zoom telephoto in general? I'm guessing I'm
'probably' better off with a fixed focal length lens, but, is a zoom useable
if it's of decent quality?
