[APML] Piggybacked Canon FD 70-210mm f/4?

Would anyone be familiar with how good a Canon FD 70-210mm zoom would be for
piggybacked astrophotos..or, a zoom telephoto in general? I'm guessing I'm
'probably' better off with a fixed focal length lens, but, is a zoom useable
if it's of decent quality?
