[APML] Canon FS4000US

Dear all, a friend of mine is looking for a scanner to use for astrophoto
and he got a good offer for the Canon FS4000US. I look through APML archive
but I found no big comments on it. As far as I understood this scanner
should be pretty good even if a little bit noisy. My concerns are about the
real scan density (claimed 3.4) and how noisy it is, i.e. if you have to go
for multy-pass every scan or if you get good results also with a single
pass. Is there anybody with experience on it?
