[APML] Southern Aurora
What a great treat to our star party. Completely cloudless, clear, cool,
stable air and Aurora!!!
Just after sunset we had a display about 10deg West of Polaris of pilars and
clouds. The display was mostly red, not pink. Occasionally the pilars
would change to green and back to red as the display swept West through the
area. We were also treated to a Bolide going through the display which
several people cought on film. The brightest display was before 1900,
fading completely about 2100-2130.
The Chiefland Star Party is located in Florida at 29 24:33.4 Lat. Southwest
of Gainsville, 12 miles inland from the Gulf Coast...joe :)
