Re: [APML] Andromeda
Scott,
It looked to me like there was more to the image than met the eye, and
it was a bit too violet. So, I took the liberty of tweaking a bit - hope you
don't mind. I increased the green using curves until the core was a nice
yellow colour and the purple tint was gone. The blue curves I boosted in the
low levels and held the highlights constant so that they didn't go too blue.
I then adjusted fainter curves for the overall image and increased
saturation 15%. The image is at
http://members.shaw.ca/jmirtle/shammonds-m31.jpg for your inspection. It
took me under 5 minutes, but then I have done this before.... The sky is
still pretty dark, you may be able to tweak it further. If that Tak is
really cramping your style, I will even drive down from Canada to relieve
you of it!
That's a really nice shot!

Subject: [APML] Andromeda
I've been playing with this image off and on for at least a week now. It's
time to get a second opinion.
There may be more there, but I'm always afraid of over doing it. Maybe I
have any way.

This was processed using levels and curves. I then applied SGBNR very
lightly and finally made some slight color adjustments.
Once again, I only took one frame of this target. I didn't like what the
negative looked like and decided not to shoot M31 again with the Takahashi,
now I think it was a mistake.
Comments are welcome, good and bad.
Thanks,
Scott Hammonds
