I think AstroStack and Registax both have fairly low limits for image
size, at least low compared to film scans that are near the grain
limit.  Both are really designed for use with webcam generated images.

Picture Window Pro and RegiStar are the only two I have used for film
images.  The former I've used for stacking lunar images, the latter
for star fields because it is *so* easy to do....
