Chris,
    You look a bit like Frank Zappa in that shot! You guys have really
strange aurora way down south. When we have a mild show like yours, covering
45 degrees of sky or so, it is usually green. I would imagine that to get
that far south, the aurora has to be pretty high energy levels - hence the
reds.
