Subject: [APML] OT: Photo Printers, recommendations?

All,

I've owned an Epson 1280 for years and it's served reasonably well.
Over the years it's become more clog-prone. I've tried various
remedies with some improvement. It's become more or a problem recently
and I've decided it's beyond hope and I'm going to replace it.

My 3 major options seem to be the Canon 9000, the Epson 2200, or perhaps
another 1280...

Here's what a little research seems to show about the options:
Canon 9000: most inexpensive printer (~$300), fast and "almost" as good
as the 1280. Canon paper more expensive than Epson
Epson 2200: very nice printer, much faster than the 1280, much more
expensive (~$700)
Epson 1280: there are various debates about how much of a head clogging
problem they have, but I've had enough problems that I'm hesitant to get
another.

Other factors: I have a bit of a stock of Epson paper that I could
probably sell. (Anyone printed Epson paper on the Canon?) I have 2
black and one color cartridges; again I could sell 'em...

I'm very interested in your experience with these printers, especially
the 9000 & 2200.

Thanks. If you feel this is too off topic please email me directly and
I'll post a summary later.
