Thanks for the e-mail
Almost all my Aurora photographs are taken on Pentax 67 using 35mm, 45mm
and
55mm wide angle lenses and Fuji Provia 400F, Fuji NPH and Fuji NPZ800.
The
usual exposure time using 400ASA film at f/4 is 30 to 80 seconds but the
aurora differs a lot in brightness so you have to experiment.
If you are using 35mm camera I recommend using a wide-angle lens ca20mm
to
28mm at f/2,8 and 400ASA film for 15 to 40 seconds.
I have just published a book about the Aurora.
The book contains 120 photographs, tips on viewing and photographing, as
well as facts and myths about the Aurora.
I am involved in a project of taking motion pictures of the Aurora with
a
new technique, which shows the aurora in a higher quality than
previously
available. A videotape/DVD with 29 displays a total of 21 minutes will
be
available for sale on a secure commerce site by the end of November but
you
can already send an order there although we have not set up the commerce
site. The URL is :

You can see about 270 more of my aurora photos if you enter
www.myndabanki.is
and type in the frame where it seas “Leitarorđ hér !” the word “Aurora”
and
then click on the blue icon “LEITA”
On the bottom of the first page you get you can then choose to see more
pages of similar photos (1,2,3…)
