[APML] OT: CCD---Lunar Eclipse from the Boston area

Well, since there's already been a few CCD/CMOS eclipse images posted here, I'll throw an ST-10XE image into the mix.

I tried a number of different approaches to processing this one, and settled on this version as it looked more reminiscent to what some friends and I remember visually.
A question though--- does it look too dark to you guys?

For the L channel, I actually used a grayscale version of a combine of the RGB frames set to the same weights as the color frames. An attempt with an R channel copy alone as the L resulted in what I thought was an unnaturally strong contrast well into the umbra--- although it looked pretty neat <g>.

BTW--- I *did* have a film camera at the ready, as I'm still not completely comfortable with CCD yet. Too many wires! For doing this type of work digitally, cameras like the Canon 10D and the Nikon D1 Jerry used seem to be the way to go.
