Re: [APML] Photoshop7/IE6 bug
Hi Dale:
I have been using PS 7 and IE 6 since I started putting images on my web
site and I've never run into a problem. I'm not sure what "XMP" is but I'm
not aware of any trouble viewing my images, by me or by others.
Since I can't diagnose your problem, let me tell you what I do and you can
see if there is some major difference from what you do.
After doing all my normal image processing in Photoshop and ending with a
tiff file, I reduce the size to 600 or 750 pixels wide (which fits almost
everyone's monitor with little or no scrolling horizontally). I then put in
my copyright label and flatten the layers. I then save the image as a jpg
and copy it into my website folder.
In FrontPage (my web editor), I open a new page, set the background color
and the typeface, font size, and font color for the title, and type in the
title. I then save the page as an htm file. With the page still open I
insert the jpg image. I then do a carriage return down and type in any
descriptive text I want to have under the image plus a link to the index
page. Then I save again.
That's pretty much it. I've never seen any error messages complaining about
XMP and the pages always seem to display as intended. What web editor do you
use? Sounds like it might be the cause of the problem. I know that Frontpage
is scorned by many html experts because of its inefficiency, redundant code,
etc, but it seems to work for the simple stuff that I use.
Hope this helps....
