[APML] Advice on a film scanner

Greetings;

I'm looking at getting a scanner that can handle film as well as regular
scanning. I found the Canon CanoScan 9900F which 'seems' like it's pretty
decent at $350. Would anyone know if it would be a good investment..or would
I better off continuing my search?

Optical scanning at 3200 dpi, hardware resolution of 3200 x 6400 dpi with
interpolated resolution of 9600 x 9600 dpi. 35mm slide and negative scanning
built in. 48 bit color, 16 bit grayscale.
