The Celestron 14 inch Schmidt has a 14.4-inch mirror and a 14-inch aperture.
The Meade unit has a 16-inch mirror and a 12-inch aperture. The Celestron
theoretically has two more inches of aperture, but because the corrector is
basically the same size as the mirror, it vignets7% at the edge of a 35 mm
film field and 15% at the edge of a 120-format film field. I do not know if
the Meade vignets, but if it does, it is very slight with 4 inch difference
between the corrector and mirror. The Celestron Schmidt was designed to be
carried in a C-14 fork, but the tube is about twice as long. You can judge
needed observatory size by that. The $10,000 price tag on the Celestron is
attractive compared to the $25,000 for the Meade, but you will need a mount
capable of carrying nearly 100 pounds. The C-14 camera weights 64 pounds
and will need a saddle (comes with this camera), guide scope, and hopefully
an autoguider.
