Re: [APML] New attempt at processing M16 image

Hi Joe:
That's a huge improvement! I think it may be time for *you* to write an article on how to process these things <G>. I know what you mean about the dark circles --- a lot of manipulations tend to do that and the only way I've discovered to avoid it is to apply each manipulation in very small increments and then repeat until the effect you want is achieved or the circles appear. In the latter case, just use the Edit/Undo command to go back to the last iteration.
Keep up the good work...
Bert

Subject: [APML] New attempt at processing M16 image

Hello,
The only good thing about all this bad weather is that I have time to try to improve on my processing skills.
Not being satisfied with my first attempt at processing my M16 image I gave it another try. With this attempt I was
able to apply same new techniques (new to me) using "Correcting for Vignetting" by Tom Diana and "Reducing Star Bloat" by
Bert Katzung

The one concern I had after using Bert's process is I noticed rings around the stars that were adjusted, but only at high magnification.

Here is my second attempt: (select image to view previous attempt)
I was happy with the yellow stars that showed up in my new image.

Thanks, Joe Schaefer
