The 201 is misunderstood. I and others have gotten a
lot of mileage out of it. It is simple to use,
lightweight and retains its user settings night after
night. The st-4 can't say the same. I'd recommend the
208 or 216. If you want to try the 201, be prepared to
visit http://www.mapug.com

Under the 201, search for articles by Michael Hart and
Guido Pasi. I also am in the process of working some
kinks out of the Meade guiders. I have some new
material on the user-set guiding parameters which, I
believe, will turn my 208 into a world-class guider.
Do I hear snickers?

I will tell you this: if you haven't used an
autoguider before, be prepared to do some prep work on
it. Focus is absolutely critical to all of them, and
very easy to miss entirely by new users.

Keep my address. If you need help with a Meade guider,
I will be happy to assist.

Alan
