That's about the size you get when you scan raw at 4000 DPI.  If you
make corrections in the Polacolor software and "scan and correct,"
you'll get a file half that size.  I think it's still better to scan
raw.  To handle the larger files, it's really a simple matter of
upgrading the RAM on your computer, especially since memory is cheap
these days.
