[APML] Post-processing from film negative and from print
Dear All,
I know, I never show you all what I do, but my results up to now are so
inferior to yours that I'm ashamed to show them to you... :-)
This issue raised recently when, instead of having my astropics printed and
than scanned with my flatbed scanner, I decided to save some money and have
them scanned by a local photoshop with their film scanner (a Minolta dual
image I think). It seems to me that the noise is much more than when I was
scanning the print, and there is some extra work to do in processing with
PS.For instance I get a lot of green dots (which I hate) and I don't know
what to do.
Up to now I always used the suggestions from Jerry Lodriguss' web page, but
there is something in the scanning that I am missing. For instance: they
were using a "dust & scratch" remover filter which seemed to bloat the
nebulas and I got some improvement in the sharpness of the image in scanning
the picture with no filtering at all, but still there seem to be too
background noise. What should I do? They don't do a Kodak PhotoCD scanning
service, they just scan the image and save it as TIFF, do you think I would
improve the situation with the Kodak service?
Thanks!
Nicola
