Re: [APML] Meade LXD55 Series
I have not personally used one of the LXD55s, but at least one person (Paul) I know has used
the 6 and 8 for imaging riding on a G-11. (Btw, I too have been considering
getting one for the OTA and putting it on a G-11.)
Here's Paul's site...
http://www.lefevre.darkhorizons.org/equipment/pdlequip.htm
...see bottom of page for more info on the LXD55.
(Note: link to images is slightly broken. Use this one...
http://www.lefevre.darkhorizons.org/ccdimaging/pdlccd.htm )
Paul has noted mods to get better images out of the scope by changing
the way the mirror is mounted...

The only other tidbit I've heard is that they have been shipping slowly.
As for the astrophoto capability of the mount.. sorry, i dont have any
info on that... however, S&T had an article in the 12/02 issue.
Instead of me misquoting it, I recommend checking it out. It was a
somewhat interesting read, but I wish they had done a more thorough
test (like what they did with the recent APO OTA review/comparison).
